Comfort for the Hard Days: 7 Simple Ways to Support Anxiety & Depression đŠ
As moms, we all have those moments when the weight of life feels heavy. When anxiety or depression creeps in and whispers that hope is far away. Iâve been there with Chloe. Iâve seen how a dark day can shift when something simple brings comfort and reminds her sheâs not alone.
One of my favorite chapters in Warrior Mom Rising is where I talk about the power of picking your battles. Sometimes itâs not about fighting harder, itâs about creating space for calm, laughter, and comfort. And let me tell you, comfort can come in the smallest forms. Create a safe space.
Some of these are Chloeâs favorites, and some are mine. Theyâve become part of our âfeel better kitâ, way to sprinkle joy into the hard days. And theyâre not just for us, they make great gifts for anyone whoâs struggling and needs a reminder that theyâre loved.

1. Weighted Stuffie
Because sometimes the best therapy is a hug you can hold. These bring grounding and comfort when worries feel too big. Chloe had a dinosaur one lol. She had a real life dog for anxiety too, her service dog, Luna.
2. Weighted Blanket
Think of it as a hug you donât have to ask for, calming, steady, and safe.
3. Snuggie (Wearable Hug)
Like wrapping yourself in kindness. Perfect for cozy mornings or tough evenings when you need an instant mood shift.
4. Cozy Slippers
Warm toes = happy heart. Simple comforts remind us that joy can start small. Sometimes its the smallest things that remind of us joy.
5. Calming Oils
Lavender is our go-to. A few drops in the diffuser and suddenly the whole room feels softer.
6. Coloring Books
A playful escape for both kids and moms. Creativity brings calm and sometimes giggles when we compare our âmasterpieces.â Chloe is crazy talented at art.
7. Journal Sets
The perfect place for prayers, doodles, or gratitude lists. Writing things out makes room for peace to come in.

These items may look simple, but they carry a powerful message: youâre loved, youâre seen, you are heard, and you matter.
If you know someone whoâs struggling, imagine their smile opening a box with cozy slippers, a journal, and calming oils. Itâs more than a gift, itâs a hug in a package.

đ„ Warrior Mom Truth
Warrior Mom, you donât have to do it all. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is choose comfort and joy right where you are. Godâs presence is found in both the big breakthroughs and the small, everyday moments.
âMay the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.â Romans 15:13
So go ahead, light the diffuser, slip on the slippers, pull up the blanket, and smile. Youâre not just surviving, youâre creating joy, even in the hard, even in the mess.
Keep Rising, Warrior Mom.
With lots of love & fire,
