Chosen, Equipped, and Called: Overcoming Imposter Syndrome 🦋

Have you ever wrestled with the tension of being “too much” or “not enough”?
Not pretty enough. Not thin enough. Too passionate. Too opinionated. Too sensitive. Too fiery.

I’ve carried those labels too. Words like “You’re too loud. You’re too much. You’re too strong-willed.” And for years, I thought those traits were flaws, things I needed to soften, hide, or apologize for.

But here’s what God has shown me: what the world calls “too much” is often exactly what He calls useful. He designed us with intention! Every ounce of passion, every spark of fire, every part of our personality. And the pieces others might try to silence are often the very ones He wants to use for His glory.

🩷 The Whisper of Imposter Syndrome

Imposter syndrome loves to creep in with its lies:
👉 “You’re not qualified.”
👉 “You’re not enough.”
👉 “Someone else could do this better.”

I’ve faced it as a nurse practitioner in high-pressure rooms. I’ve faced it as a mom advocating for my child. I’ve faced it stepping into NEW roles as an author and coach. Every single time, the whisper tries to make me shrink back.

But when I quiet myself and listen, I hear God’s voice cutting through the noise:
💜
“But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 1:7–8

🩷 Stepping Fully Into Who God Created You to Be

God created each of us to be unique and authentic. He didn’t make a mistake when He gave you your voice, your personality, your fire.

I’ve heard most of my life: “You’re too much. You’re too loud. You have a strong personality.” Maybe you’ve heard similar words spoken over you.

But here’s what I know: I am who I am because that’s how God designed me. And today, I’m choosing to step fully into who He created me to be.

Why? Because my story might help one person.

I may never know this side of heaven the ripple effect of my obedience but if I shrink back, if I quiet my voice, if I stop doing what God has called me to do then I serve no one.

And, Warrior Mom, neither do you. When you shrink back especially for the comfort of others the world misses the gift God put inside of you.

Matthew 5:14–16
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

🦋 From Shrinking Back to Rising Up

The truth is, God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called.

That means the very parts of you others label as “too much” may be the exact parts God intends to use. Your boldness. Your fire. Your compassion. Your voice.

So don’t shrink back for the comfort of others. Don’t play small because of their discomfort. Playing small doesn’t serve anyone.

You were made for this.

Warrior Mom, maybe today you feel like you’re faking it. Like you’re not equipped to handle your child’s struggles, your family’s needs, or the calling God has placed on your heart.

I want you to know that you are not an imposter. You’re chosen, equipped, and called. And you are exactly who your child, your spouse, your family, and this world needs right now.

When the lies come, answer them with truth:
✨ Christ strengthens me.
✨ God is with me.
✨ I will not be afraid.
✨ I will not shrink back.

🩷 Scripture for Today

  • “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” –Philippians 4:13

  • “But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,’ declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 1:7–8

🔥 Warrior Mom Truth
Imposter syndrome may whisper,
“Who do you think you are?”
But God answers:
“You’re chosen. You’re equipped. And you’re called. And I am with you.”

So RISE, Warrior Mom. Don’t shrink back. Don’t play small. Step boldly into who and what God created you to be!!

With lots of love & fire,
