Facing the Fear
Facing the Fear: The Battle Every Mom Faces and Why We Must Rise 🩷
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.” — 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)
There’s something about stepping outside your comfort zone that brings a whole new level of fear. It’s the kind of fear that paralyzes you, that whispers lies about your worth and capabilities. Lately, I’ve been feeling that fear in a big way—fear of doing podcasts, fear of writing my book, and fear of pushing myself into a space I never imagined I’d be in.
The fear of failure. The fear of judgment. The fear of “Who am I to do this?”
But I know this fear isn’t from God. And here’s the truth I hold onto: the enemy’s goal is to keep us stuck. He wants to plant seeds of doubt, to make us question our calling, and to prevent us from stepping into our purpose.
I can remember a moment in my journey when I faced a huge wave of fear and doubt. It was when I first started working on my book, Warrior Mom Rising. I had all these thoughts—Who’s going to read this? What if no one cares about what I have to say? I’m just a mom trying to make a difference.
But then, I heard God’s voice whispering through the noise, reminding me of my mission, my purpose, and the truth that fear does not come from Him. I thought about all the moms who needed to hear this message—who needed to be empowered, equipped, and encouraged. And I realized something important: this journey was never about me. It was about the women I’m called to serve, and about stepping into a role that brings glory to God.
As moms, our work is sacred. We are on a mission to shape not only the lives of our children but also the world around us. And the enemy knows it. If he can silence moms, if he can sideline us, then he wins. But here’s the thing—we don’t just have a job; we have a divine calling. We do holy work.
This isn’t just about raising kids. It’s about raising generations. It’s about shaping futures. It’s about creating spaces where women, especially moms, feel empowered to step into their full potential. We are warriors, not just in our homes but in every sphere we influence. And when moms rise, it’s more than just a personal victory. It sends ripples of change through generations. When you step into your purpose, you are shifting the trajectory of those who come after you. 🩷
The devil’s mission is clear: keep us from embracing our calling. He wants us stuck in the lies that we’re unworthy, unqualified, or unprepared. But we were made for this. Our stories, our journeys, and our struggles are part of the powerful message God is weaving through us.
🩷 So, here’s how we fight back.
Read the Bible. There’s no weapon more powerful than God’s Word. Every time fear creeps in, I remind myself of scriptures like Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” You’d be surprised how quickly fear fades when you speak truth over your life.
Listen to Worship Music. There’s something about praise that shifts the atmosphere. I put on worship music and let the melodies of truth drown out the lies. Music has a way of feeding your spirit and reminding you who you are in Christ.
Tell satan he Belongs Under Your Blood-Bought Boot. (Yes, I just said that!) When the devil tries to talk you out of your calling, sometimes you’ve got to get a little bold. I like to imagine my boot stomping on his lies like a stomp of victory. (Feel free to give him a metaphorical boot to the you-know-what!)

Pray and Surrender. Prayer has been my lifeline. I speak to God openly about my fears and doubts, asking for His strength and guidance. Surrendering my plans to Him, knowing He is in control, gives me the peace I need to move forward. As Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Take Action Anyway. The best way to FIGHT fear is to do the thing that scares you. Even when I feel unworthy or afraid, I push through and take one step at a time. God honors our obedience, even when it feels uncomfortable.
Surround Yourself with Warriors. Find your tribe. Connect with people who lift you up and remind you of your purpose. I’ve been blessed with an incredible community of warrior moms who walk this journey with me. There’s power in shared strength. As the Bible says in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I with them.” When we come together, we’re not just gaining strength from each other—we’re inviting God’s presence into our journey, and that makes all the difference.
🩷 So, here’s my challenge to you, Warrior Mom: Don’t let the fear stop you. Don’t let the enemy’s lies silence your voice. We are called to rise. Our purpose is bigger than our comfort zones. And when we step into that purpose, we change the world—not just for our children, but for generations to come.
Remember, if the devil can take moms out of the game, then he wins. But if WE rise—fear, doubt, and all—WE win. And we bring glory to God in the process. It is ALL for God's glory!!
Let’s rise together, mommas. Let’s embrace the power we have and walk confidently in our purpose. 🦋
Rising with you,
🩷 Jenn
