When God Calls You Out of the Boat: Stepping Into Faith When Comfort Isn’t Enough 🦋
When God Calls You Out of the Boat: Stepping Into Faith When Comfort Isn’t Enough 🦋
There’s a moment in every woman’s life, every mother’s life when God asks you to take a step that doesn’t make sense on paper.
A step that feels scary.
A step that feels too big.
A step that feels like the water can’t possibly hold you.
And everything in you wants to cling to the boat and say,
“Lord, are You sure?”
But here’s the truth God keeps teaching me:
🔥 You’re better off out of the boat with Jesus
than in the boat without Him.
Because the boat isn’t the safety.
His presence is.
The boat represents what’s familiar, the routines, the roles, the illusion of control.
But Jesus doesn’t call us to COMFORT.
He calls us to COURAGE
And sometimes the water, the place He’s calling you, is exactly where your breakthrough is hiding.
🩷 A Moment From My Book: When I Had to Step Out Anyway
In Warrior Mom Rising, I wrote about a moment I’ll never forget, a moment that broke me wide open.
It was one of Chloe’s hardest seasons.
She was hurting emotionally, overwhelmed, and fighting battles I couldn’t take away.
I remember standing in the hallway outside her room, hands shaking, heart pounding, trying to hold myself together for her.
I felt like I was failing her.
Failing my family.
Failing myself.
And I prayed one of the rawest prayers of my life:
“Lord, I don’t know what to do anymore. I can’t carry this.”
In that moment, it felt like sinking.
Like stepping out into deep water with no guarantee I’d stay afloat.
But it was exactly there, right when the storm was loudest that Jesus met me.
Not with instant answers.
Not with a miracle fix.
But with a steady whisper:
“You don’t have to hold this. You just have to hold Me.”
That moment became a turning point, a Warrior Mom moment.
I realized I didn’t need to be the hero.
I needed to be the one who trusted the Hero.
Stepping out of the boat wasn’t about bravery.
It was about surrender.
And surrender became my strength.
⛵️When the Boat Feels Safer, But Really Isn’t
We cling to the boat because it’s comfortable.
Predictable.
Familiar.
But sometimes the boat, the place that feels safest is actually the place keeping us stuck.
Stuck in burnout.
Stuck in survival mode.
Stuck believing everything depends on us.
Jesus isn’t waiting for us inside the comfort zone.
He’s waiting in the place that requires faith.
When you finally take that step, shaky legs, trembling voice, imperfect faith, you discover what God knew all along:
You’re stronger than the storm.
You’re braver than the fear.
You’re held by a God who walks ON the waves you’re afraid of.
The moment I stepped out was the moment Warrior Mom was born in me.
And it can be the moment she’s born in you too.
🦋 Maybe God Is Calling YOU to Reset
If you feel Him nudging you…
If He’s asking you to let go…
If He’s calling you to rise…
If something in you is whispering, “I can’t keep doing life like this…”
Maybe He’s not calling you to push harder.
Maybe He’s calling you to RESET.
Your mind.
Your hormones.
Your nervous system.
Your energy.
Your identity.
Your FAITH.
Because you can’t fight battles God never designed you to carry alone!!
✨ If You’re Ready for a Reset, I Built Something for You
My own “step out of the boat” season is why I created:

🔥 Final Thoughts: He Meets You in the Waves
Whatever season you’re in,
Whatever storm you’re navigating,
Whatever step you’re afraid to take,
Jesus isn’t asking you to be fearless.
He’s asking you to trust Him enough to move.
You’re not stepping into uncertainty.
You’re stepping into His certainty.
And you’re better off out of the boat with Him
than safe in the boat without Him. 🩷
